YOUNGSTOWN -- The Rayen School will be sponsoring a Special Needs Winterfest Dance from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Mahoning Country Club in Girard. The dance is open to all high school-age students with multiple, orthopedic or developmental disabilities. The cost is $8 per student. For more information, call Jeanne Constantino at the school.
'Messiah' oratorio
NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- George F. Handel's sacred oratorio "Messiah" will be performed at 3 p.m. Sunday at First United Methodist Church, 135 Decker Drive. Harry Cunningham is the director for the 62nd annual performance. Featured performers include Rosemary Minghetti of Struthers and James Piccirilli of Sharpsville. The music also will be interpreted through sign language. There is no admission charge, but a collection will be taken during the performance.
