Randall Poindexter's strong scoring in the second half paced the Redmen.

YOUNGSTOWN -- The Woodrow Wilson High basketball team used a 7-0 spurt in the last two minutes of the third quarter to pull away from Youngstown Christian for a 61-46 victory.
After the spurt, the Redmen led 45-36 on their way home court.
Wilson's Randall Poindexter scored 16 points, 12 in the second half and nine in the final quarter when the Redmen outscored the Eagles, 16-6.
Poindexter also had 11 of his team's 37 rebounds.
"We played [well] enough to win, but we have to step it up if we are to become a better team," Poindexter said.
Senior forward Isaiah Anderson scored 10 points.
Cherol's view
Wilson coach Mark Cherol said, "Give [the Eagles] credit -- they came in here and really played well. Though we won, we were very tentative tonight and had too many turnovers."
David Johnson and Derrick Maddox came off the Wilson bench to score nine points. Johnson also pulled down nine rebounds.
Senior point guard Themi Tsarnas led the Eagles with 14 points. Junior post player Mike Byrdy scored nine points and grabbed a team high nine rebounds.
Wilson led 35-21 early in the third quarter when Youngstown Christian outscored them 15 to 3.
"Our kids played their hearts out and were right there, but Wilson had at least seven field goals on putbacks and you just can't coach size," Eagles coach Tony Agresta said.
