RECEPTION BPJWL to honor 12 seniors as part of its service project
The honorees will receive certificates signed by Gov. Robert Taft.
NORTH LIMA -- The provisional class for 2002 of the Boardman-Poland Junior Women's League will honor 12 senior citizens and their families during a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Dec. 8 at Glenellen Senior Suites and Villas-Lakeside, 9661 Market St., North Lima, as part of its service project, "Our Help for the Elderly."
Certificates from the Ohio Department of Aging, signed by Gov. Robert Taft, will be presented to those who have reached the age of 90 or over during 2002. To be honored are Charlotte Benkner, Bertha Blaine, Daisie Blossom, Eunice Bower, Anne Cavalier, Marie DiLoreto, Theresa Fields, Mary Hewes, Tillie O'Hare, Mary Lou Patterson, Rose Rasile and Helen Williams.
Entertainment will be a Frank Sinatra tribute by Bill Keller. Light refreshments will be served.
The project, in conjunction with the Ohio Federation of Women's Clubs and General Federation of Women's Clubs, promotes advocacy to see that the needs of Ohio's elderly population are being met.
Participants
Members of the provisional class are Lynn Mickey, general chairwoman; Yvonne Ford, refreshments; Linda Crish, publicity; and Carol Shutrump, decorations, with Pat Johnston and Chris Bobik assisting.
The state project chairwoman is Susan Rebhan. Mary Dulay is Northeast District chairwoman.
