The city's control board approved these contracts and spending items Wednesday:
A $277,169 contract to Marucci & amp; Gaffney Excavating for the West Avenue sanitary sewer and pump station.
A $250,000 contract with Mahoning County lead control program.
Spending up to $15,000 for the upcoming series of meetings for Youngstown 2010, the city's comprehensive plan process.
A $564 technical assistance grant for Mark Wallace for reinstatement into the Iron Workers union and purchase of tools.
Severance of $879 for Lewis Trebella, a laborer in the water department who resigned Oct. 29.
Adding $3,000 to the contract with CompManagement Inc. for managing workers' compensation issues, bringing the contract to $85,000.
