When you don't have time to stop at home before an evening out, plan ahead to revamp hair and freshen makeup to jazz up look.

NEW YORK -- The mad dash to a party often doesn't include time for a primping pit-stop at home, so Cosmopolitan magazine is offering tips on "getting decked out deskside":
UA quick coif change can revive a tired hairdo. If your hair has been up all day, the ponytail holder or clips should have given the hair some texture, so shake it out and scrunch the crown to emphasize the volume. If you started with your hair down, switch your part or sweep your hair up into a twist.
UDaytime eye shadow becomes sultry by wetting the applicator before you put a new layer of shadow on. Go over the last lines, then smudge the color across your eyelids.
UCurled lashes make eyes look big and bright. If you don't happen to carry your curler around with you, a metal spoon can work as a substitute. Hold it against a lamp to warm it, then place the back of the spoon under your upper lashes and press lightly as you partially close your lid.
UIf your cuticles are as haggard as you feel at the end of the day, erase the overgrown skin with (what else?) a pencil's eraser tip. Use the eraser to push back the skin and buff nails to a shine with a tissue.
UA nontoxic pink highlighter can be used to put color in your pout if there is no lipstick or gloss in sight. Dot the highlighter over lips and lightly rub them together before the color sets. The result will be a pink Popsicle-like stain.
