Testing continues on body of infant

NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- An autopsy revealed nothing significant about the death of an infant found in the North Hill area, said Lawrence County Coroner Russell S. Noga.
More tests are being done, but a forensic pathologist was unable to tell if the child has been stillborn, Noga.
And Police Chief Victor Cubellis said this morning they still haven't determine whether charges will be filed.
The body of the infant was turned over to police about 3:30 a.m. Sunday from a Park Avenue home where it apparently had been kept in a plastic bag in a shoe box on the third floor, authorities said.
The child's mother contends the baby was stillborn in September and she panicked and hid the child's body. She apparently told someone about the baby early Sunday, and that person contacted police.
District Attorney Matthew Mangino said a radiologist will look at the skeletal structure of the body to determine the age of the child. It was too badly decomposed to determine the baby's age or gender, he said.
