KIDS' PROJECTS
Birthday party beginnings
The best way start a birthday party is with a welcome center. This keeps children occupied as the guests trickle in, and no one will feel left out or without something to do. Set up the welcome table with "loot bags." These paper lunch bags can be decorated with school glue, markers, glitter, crayons, etc. Since prizes will be given away at this party, this is a good way for children to display their creative side and keep their small prizes in order.
Children and geography
Teach children the states by using their shapes as flash cards. Show the child a card, then provide one relevant fact about the mystery state to help him or her name it.
Easy easel
An easy way to set up an easel is to attach a white board or chalkboard to one side of a small wooden stepladder and hang a tablet of paper on the other side. Hang a piece of vinyl gutter from the bottom step to hold crayons, markers and paints.
