Wind gusted regularly above 20 knots and peaked around 29 knots before the race committee decided to abandon racing about 15 minutes after the scheduled start. On Saturday, the challenger repechages were wiped out because of light and shifty wind.

The winners of the repechage series will join Alinghi of Switzerland and Oracle of San Francisco in challenger semifinals.
