NHL ROUNDUP | Saturday's other games

Islanders 3, Rangers 1
NEW YORK -- Brad Isbister scored twice and rookie Mattias Weinhandl had three assists in the third period, rallying the Islanders past the Rangers. Mark Parrish also scored in the final period, and Alexei Yashin had three assists for the Islanders, 84-81-17 against their biggest rivals. Weinhandl, playing his fifth NHL game, only had one previous assist. Tom Poti gave the Rangers a 1-0 lead in the second period. It was not what rookie Rangers coach Bryan Trottier hoped for in his first game against the Islanders, the team with which he built a Hall of Fame playing career. Trottier missed three of the Rangers' five previous games because of a suspension and back pain. They were 3-0 without him and are only 6-11-3 with him. Trottier has not coached a win since Nov. 7. Isbister scored his first at 8:20 after Yashin made a diving play to keep the puck in the Rangers' zone. He added his second goal at 10:43 after the puck hit his skate, then the post before coming back to him. The Islanders tied it at 1 on Parrish's goal 2:23 into the third period, and just eight seconds into a power play. Yashin gained control of the puck in the left circle and sent a shot in on Dan Blackburn from the corner. The rebound came to Parrish, who shook off defenseman Darius Kasparaitis in front and jammed a shot in.
Wild 4, Predators 2
ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Marian Gaborik scored three goals to lead Minnesota. Gaborik's second hat trick of the season and fourth of his career moved him into the NHL lead with 15 goals. He broke a 2-2 tie with his second goal at 1:14 of the third, then scored at 3:24 as the Wild extended their unbeaten streak to five games (3-0-2). Andrew Brunette also scored, and Cliff Ronning had two assists for the Wild. Adam Hall and Andy Delmore scored for Nashville, which is 0-4-2 in its last six games.

BOSTON -- Steve Shields made 22 saves and the Boston Bruins scored three power-play goals. MONTREAL -- Erik Cole had his second career three-goal game and Carolina scored five times in the second period to roll past Montreal. Defensemen Sean Hill and Glen Wesley each had three assists, and Bates Battaglia, Jan Hlavac, Jeff O'Neill and Ron Francis also scored for Carolina. Yanic Perreault scored twice and Richard Zednik added a goal for Montreal, which lost its second straight. Jose Theodore allowed all seven goals in his return to the lineup after missing two games because of a hip flexor injury.

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Dave Andreychuk became the 14th member of the NHL's 600-goal club by scoring two third-period goal to lead Tampa Bay. He then tied Jari Kurri for 13th place among career goal scorers when he got No. 601 on a deflection in front at 2:53. Andreychuk's accomplishment overshadowed a great game by Tampa Bay goaltender Nikolai Khabibulin, who stopped 22 of 23 shots in the first two periods when New Jersey dominated. He finished with 32 saves. Andre Roy scored the other Lightning goal. Sergei Brylin tallied for New Jersey.
Avalanche 3, Blues 1
ST. LOUIS -- Eric Messier, Joe Sakic and Milan Hejduk scored, and Patrick Roy made 19 saves to lead Colorado.
