Garden Forum names flower show winners

BOARDMAN -- The Garden Forum held its holiday meeting and flower show Nov. 13 at The Georgetown.
Judges for the event were Sheila Bowman, Regina Webb and Dorothy Haddox. Haddox also served as chairwoman of the show.
Blue ribbons for horticulture were awarded to Haddox, Our Lady of Fatima; Betsy Meyers, Gleaners; Pearl Marlos, Silver Leaf; Martha Murphy, St. Edward; Webb, Salem; Patricia Tarajack and Peg Potts, Johnny Appleseed; Mary Mihalich, Moccasin; Jean Davidson, Sweetbriar; Irene John, Austintown; Mary Calai, East; and Evelyn Resek, Mahoning. Murphy and Potts won gold seals in the division.
In artistic design, blue ribbons were won by Marlos; Sheila Bowman, Salem; Elsie DeHoff, Austintown; Meyer; and Carol Kolenich, Moccasin. Gold seals in artistic design were received by Marlos and Kolenich.
Winning blue ribbons in the craft division were Stephanie Sheely, Lowellville; Mihalich and Jan Niemzura, Moccasin; Jean Hammer and DeHoff, Austintown; and Antoinette Saccorsy and Kitty Matasy, East. Hammer was awarded the gold seal in that division.
