College access program
WARREN -- The Rotary Club & amp; Foundation of Warren has made a $1,000 contribution to the Mahoning Valley College Access Program. The contribution was forwarded by Cheryl Oblinger, the organization's secretary-treasurer, earlier this month.
MVCAP, with offices in Warren and Youngstown, is a nonprofit charitable organization focused on increasing the number of Valley students who continue their education beyond high school. The program was launched in 2001 by the Raymond John Wean Foundation of Warren.
Nursing career day

Arts camp scholarship
INTERLOCHEN, Mich. -- High school music students are invited to apply for an Emerson Scholarship Award to the 2003 Interlochen Arts Camp in northern Michigan. Full scholarships will be awarded to 52 students from across the United States and Puerto Rico, funded by the St. Louis-based Emerson. Each $5,193 scholarship provides tuition, private lessons and room and board for the eight-week camp, running June 15 to Aug. 11.
Those eligible to apply are students in grades nine through 12 who demonstrate exceptional proficiency on harp, string, wind or percussion instruments. Applicants must submit an audition on tape or compact disc, postmarked by Feb. 15; winners will be announced April 15.

Tours of Russian cities
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -- The "Russia's Golden Traditions" trip, including visits to St. Petersburg, Moscow and the eight Golden Ring cities, is being offered by Slippery Rock University. The June 11 to 27 tour is open to the public and will be led by Dr. Charles Tichy, professor of modern languages and culture.

'Got Milk' contest
WASHINGTON -- High school senior athletes who can describe in 75 words or less how drinking milk is part of their life and training regimen are invited to apply for one of 25 $7,500 scholarships to be awarded nationwide. The "Got Milk"/Milk Mustache campaign and USA Today are sponsoring the Scholar Athlete Milk Mustache of the Year Awards, now in its sixth year.
Besides the scholarship, winners receive a trip to an awards ceremony at Disney Wide World of Sports' Milk House in Orlando, Fla., and will appear in a Milk Mustache ad in USA Today.
A celebrity panel including Jason Kidd, Mia Hamm, Mat Hoffman, Pete Sampras, Marion Jones and Tony Hawk will select winners based on academics, athletics, leadership and community service.
