Archey, Curry lead Butler over IPFW

FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- Darnell Archey scored 15 points and Lewis Curry added 13 to lead Butler to a 69-53 victory over Indiana-Purdue Fort Wayne on Friday night.
The Bulldogs (1-0) took a 34-25 lead at the half after shooting 58 percent from the field, and outscored the Mastodons (0-4) in the second half 35-28.
Butler, which shot 51 percent from the field to Indiana-Purdue Fort Wayne's 46 percent, also got 12 points from Duane Lightfoot and 11 from Brandon Miller.
David Simon came off the bench to lead the Mastodons with 14 points and hit all six of his field-goal attempts. Jim Kessenich and DeAngelo Woodall scored 12 points apiece.
