Pavilion will cost nonresidents more
NORTH LIMA -- Individuals living outside Beaver Township interested in renting the pavilion in Woodworth Park will see a fee increase beginning Jan. 1.
Township trustees agreed Thursday to raise the rental rate for the pavilion for nonresidents from $40 to $70. Residents will continue to pay $40.
Scott Conway, park chairman, told trustees that in other area townships it is common for nonresidents to pay more than residents to rent certain facilities. "Most every township is doing this," he said. "And some are even doubling the fee for nonresidents."
Conway will begin accepting reservations for the pavilion for summer 2003 on Jan. 1.
The township announced its police department will receive $15,108 from the state Selective Traffic Enforcement Program in 2003. About $4,500 of that grant will be used for the township's first in-car video camera. The remainder will be used to reimburse the township for police overtime. The trustees also accepted the resignation of James Rowley as a part-time dispatcher, effective Nov. 8, and part-time police officer, effective Nov. 30.
