Austintown man, 19, shot in leg

AUSTINTOWN -- A Maplecrest Drive teen was shot in the leg Wednesday evening on Oakcrest Drive.
Dominic Sarno, 19, was treated at St. Elizabeth's Health Center.
Sarno called police at about 6:30 p.m. and said he had been shot, and that he was driving himself to Austintown Ambulatory Healthcare Center. Police found him in his car in a parking lot on Mahoning Avenue.
Sarno told police he was flagged down by a man while he was driving on Oakcrest Drive near Signature Drive. The man repeatedly said something to Sarno that Sarno did not understand.
Sarno said the man grew frustrated and pulled out a gun. The man then shot Sarno and ran away.
Police later picked up a man walking on Marcia Drive and questioned him about the shooting. He was released, and the police investigation continues.
