Company bids $16M forAmerican Paper Group
YOUNGSTOWN -- A Missouri company bid $16 million for American Paper Group, which has two plants in Boardman and is the largest printer of church envelopes in the country.
MWM Dexter was selected as the lead bidder in an auction for American Paper and has until Dec. 3 to work out a purchase agreement. An auction is to be held Jan. 6 when other companies can outbid MWM Dexter. A hearing to approve the results of the auction is to be Jan. 7 in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Youngstown.

YOUNGSTOWN -- Richard Schiraldi, a partner at the Cohen & amp; Co. accounting firm, and David Sweet, president of Youngstown State University, have joined the board of directors of United Community Financial Corp., which is the parent company of Home Savings and Loan Co. and Butler Wick Corp.
Salem plant winsdefense contract
SALEM -- Miller Holzwarth of Salem received a $272,000 contract to provide optical instruments to the Army's Material Command in Rock Island, Ill.
The deal was among federal contracts announced Monday by the U.S. Department of Defense.
