By beating the NFL's sorriest team, the Cleveland Browns got back to .500. They also moved back into contention in the AFC North, and jumped back into the playoff picture -- along with just about everybody else. Cleveland's win wasn't pretty, for sure. But after losing one game on a thrown helmet and another in overtime earlier this season, the Browns will take it. C6.
No repeat
Two days after being held to a season-low six points, Tim Duncan wasn't about to get shut down again by the Cleveland Cavaliers. Duncan scored 25 points to lead the San Antonio Spurs to a 104-78 victory, sending Cleveland to its seventh straight loss. C4.

Mike Hampton wanted out of Coors Field. That was the easy part. Figuring out the money trail was much more complicated. In a deal that resembled a complex corporate merger, Hampton wound up with the Atlanta Braves and a record amount of cash -- $36.5 million -- changed hands among three teams. C3.
