TORONTO -- Karl Malone scored 11 of his 15 points in the fourth quarter. Matt Harpring had 23 points and John Stockton added 15 for the Jazz. After combining for just 12 points in the first three quarters, Malone and Stockton combined for 18 in the fourth. Malone, who missed 12 of his first 14 shots, grabbed an offensive rebound and hit a short jumper to give Utah a four-point lead with 1:35 remaining. He then made one of two free throws, giving Utah an 81-76 lead with 1:24 to go. Alvin Williams scored 20 points and Antonio Davis had 18 points and eight rebounds for the Raptors, who played without Vince Carter (strained left quadriceps tendon).
SuperSonics 84, Clippers 78
LOS ANGELES -- Gary Payton had 22 points and 10 assists as Seattle rallied in the fourth quarter for its fourth consecutive victory. Payton and Desmond Mason combined to score all but 10 of the team's 30 points in the final 12 minutes. Mason had 10 of his 18 in the quarter when Seattle trailed by 10. Elton Brand had 19 points and 16 rebounds for the Clippers. Eric Piatkowski added 17 points and Michael Olowokandi had 13 rebounds. Rashard Lewis added 16 points and 11 rebounds for Seattle.
76ers 100, Wizards 84
PHILADELPHIA -- Keith Van Horn scored 23 points and converted a three-point play with 5:41 remaining to begin a game clinching 10-0 run for Philadelphia. The Sixers got 28 points from Allen Iverson and 11 points and 12 assists from Eric Snow. Jerry Stackhouse scored 29 and Michael Jordan 19, but no other Washington player reached double figures.
Rockets 93, Lakers 89
LOS ANGELES -- Steve Francis scored 11 of his 27 points in the fourth quarter, and rookie Yao Ming shot 9-for-9 in scoring a career-high 20 points for Houston. The loss was the fifth in six games for the Lakers, again playing without Shaquille O'Neal. Kobe Bryant scored a season-high 46 points, but missed a wide-open shot with about 10 seconds remaining that could have given the Lakers the lead. Derek Fisher added a season-high 17 points for the Lakers. Cuttino Mobley scored 15 points, and Maurice Taylor added 12 points for the Rockets. Yao had six rebounds while playing 23 minutes, and Francis had nine rebounds and six assists.
Kings 101, Magic 99
SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Chris Webber scored 24 points and made a 21-footer with 1.5 seconds remaining as Sacramento remained unbeaten at home. Tracy McGrady made two 3-pointers, and Pat Burke tipped in a shot with four seconds remaining as Orlando rallied from an eight-point deficit in the final minute. McGrady, the NBA's leading scorer, finished with 36 points, 14 rebounds and seven assists for Orlando. Bobby Jackson made 10 of 11 shots for 22 points for Sacramento, 5-0 at home.
