NHL Columbus, Nashville in 1-1 tie
Two first-period goals told the tale of the game, as the Blue Jackets and Predators failed to tally in overtime.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Geoff Sanderson and David Legwand scored first-period goals in a 1-1 tie Saturday night between the Columbus Blue Jackets and Nashville Predators.
Sanderson has scored a goal in six straight games to set a team record. It is also the longest current streak in the NHL.
Columbus had four shots in overtime and Nashville had three, but they weren't enough to get either team its first win in overtime this season.
The Blue Jackets needed only 30 seconds to score their goal. Sanderson fired a shot off of Nashville goaltender Mike Dunham and then put back his own rebound to make it 1-0.
Nashville tied it at 7:36 when David Legwand put back a rebound of Scott Hartnell's shot.
Glove save
In the second period, Dunham made a glove save of a wrist shot by Andrew Cassels at 7:21 and also stopped a slap shot by Mike Sillinger at 17:08.
Columbus' Marc Denis stopped 12 Nashville shots in both the second and third periods including a pair of close range rebound shots by Martin Erat at 14:14 and Vladimir Orszagh at 14:48.
The Predators failed to score on three power plays, including a 5-3 advantage that began late in the first period and stretched 25 seconds into the second.

Kimmo Timonen was back in the lineup for Nashville after missing two games with an ankle bruise. ... The Predators lead the league in players used this season with 31. ... Andrew Cassels also set a Blue Jackets record, recording a point in eight straight games. ... Wyatt Smith of Columbus left the game in the second period with a bruised shoulder and didn't return.
