MINNEAPOLIS -- Brad Banks threw for two touchdowns and ran for two more, and Fred Russell ran for 194 yards as No. 6 Iowa clinched at least a share of the Big Ten title for the first time in 12 years with a 45-21 victory over Minnesota on Saturday.
Jermelle Lewis added 101 yards rushing for the Hawkeyes (11-1, 8-0), who reached 11 wins for the first time ever and finished undefeated in conference play for the first time since 1922.
Iowa can win the Big Ten title outright and qualify for the Rose Bowl if No. 2 Ohio State (11-0, 6-0) loses one of its two remaining games. Iowa and Ohio State do not meet this season.
Iowa's only loss was to Iowa State of the Big 12 on Sept. 14. The Hawkeyes won't play again for another 6 1/2 weeks, and their bowl-game fate may not be decided until the final BCS standings are released on Dec. 8.
Asad Abdul-Khaliq was 18-for-30 passing for 205 yards, two interceptions and two short touchdown runs for the Golden Gophers (7-4, 3-4), who have been bowl-eligible for a month but lost their third straight. Minnesota finishes at Wisconsin next week in what likely will be a battle for a berth in the Sun Bowl.
Banks was 9-of-17 for 100 yards, and Russell gained his yards on just 17 carries. Their efforts helped the Hawkeyes win the Floyd of Rosedale pig trophy for the second straight year.
No. 12 Michigan 21, Wisconsin 14
ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Chris Perry ran for a career-high 175 yards and a touchdown as Michigan held on.
The Wolverines (9-2, 6-1 Big Ten) can't wait to play at Ohio State next week, when they'll try to wreck their rivals' national championship hopes. Michigan also could boost its chances of getting picked to play in the Sugar or Orange Bowl.
Next week's showdown almost lost a little luster because Michigan came close to blowing it against the Badgers.
Michigan's Markus Curry broke up a potential TD pass to Jonathan Orr in the end zone with 1:29 remaining. On third-and-10 from Michigan's 31, Brooks Bollinger underthrew a wide-open Orr. That allowed Curry to pull down Orr's right arm and save the game for Michigan.
Wisconsin's final pass was incomplete, and on the final possession Perry ran through a hole for a 43-yard run to seal the win.
Purdue 45, Michigan St. 42
EAST LANSING, Mich. -- Kyle Orton threw a 40-yard touchdown pass to John Standeford with three minutes remaining to rally Purdue in a seesaw game.
Orton, who came off the bench to lead the Boilermakers to a 24-14 win over Michigan State a year ago in West Lafayette, Ind., replaced starter Brandon Kirsch on fourth-and-8 and threw the winning score. Kirsch was knocked out on a hard hit by Mike Labinjo.
Orton connected with Taylor Stubblefield on the two-point conversion for the final margin.
Michigan State (4-7, 2-5 Big Ten) advanced past midfield on its next possession but turned the ball over on downs with 1:13 to go.
