Bobovnyik 50th celebrated at reception at park

XYOUNGSTOWN -- A reception took place Oct. 27 at the D.D. and Velma Davis Education and Visitor Center at Mill Creek Park in honor of the 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. David Bobovnyik, 1656 Manhattan Ave.
Hosts for the event were the honorees' children and their spouses, Victoria and Dr. Daryl Mincey of Liberty; James Watt and Dr. Denise Bobovnyik-Watt and Atty. David and Lisa Bobovnyik, all of Canfield; Debra and Joseph DeMatteo of Boardman; Diana and Dr. Victor Perez, Kansas City, Kan.; Daniel Bobovnyik, Glendora, Calif.; and Douglas Bobovnyik and his companion, Lonnie Fain, of Salem.
The former Joan Snyder and Mr. Bobovnyik were married Sept. 20 1952, at St. Patrick Church.
Mrs. Bobovnyik worked during the 1950s and 1970s at Ohio Bell Telephone Co. as a long-distance operator.
Retiring in 1990, Mr. Bobovnyik was the parts and service manager at General Fireproofing. He served in the U.S. Army.
The couple are members of Holy Name Church.
The family circle includes 14 grandchildren.
