Suspensions upheld
The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference upheld its decision to suspend five Indiana University of Pennsylvania football players for one game because of a fight at Slippery Rock.
IUP's appeal of the decision was rejected, and the league announced the suspensions Friday. Slippery Rock did not appeal the league's ruling to suspend four of its players. They will miss Slippery Rock's final regular-season game today at Clarion.
IUP is off this week but is ranked No. 6 in the Division II poll and virtually assured of a first-round playoff game Nov. 23. The suspended players will miss that game.
