XBOARDMAN -- The marriage of Sharlene Renee Foy and Richard Paul Piper, both of 4843 Westchester Drive, Austintown, was solemnized by the Rev. Dean Olson at 2 p.m. Oct. 12 at Simon Road Church of God. Afterward the couple were honored at Mahoning Country Club, Girard.
The bride is a daughter of Elizabeth Foy of the Westchester Drive address and the late George Foy. The groom is a son of Jennifer Piper, 451 Rhoda Ave., Youngstown, and the late Paul Piper.
They honeymooned in Niagara Falls and live in Austintown.
Rosettes accented the bride's white satin A-line gown styled with a pleated bodice.
Wearing plum-colored dresses were honor attendant Kelly Moracco, Salem, and bridesmaids Nicole Piper, Boardman, the groom's cousin; Diana Abbey, Delaware, Ohio, the bride's niece; Sara Piper, Boardman, his cousin; and Becky Ewing, Canfield. Flower girl was Chelsea Miles, Berlin Center.
Best man for his brother was Raymond Piper, Fort Stewart, Hinesville, Ga. Groomsmen were Shawn Abbey, Delaware, the bride's nephew, and Jason Young and Joshua Miles, both of Berlin Center, and Brian Augustine, Los Angeles. Her nephew, Brian Griffin, Austintown, was ring bearer. Ushers were Paul Griffin, Girard, and Eric Griffin, Campbell, the bride's brothers who also escorted her down the aisle, and Steven Griffin, Girard, her nephew.
Mrs. Piper graduated with a bachelor's degree in communication from the University of Akron. The groom is assistant manager at Pizza Hut, Newton Falls.
