55th anniversary
HUBBARD -- The Up and Going Sunday School Class from Hubbard First Baptist Church celebrated its 55th anniversary Nov. 2 with a dinner at Echoes Restaurant in Sharon, Pa. The class was organized in 1947 and has been active since. Two of the original members, George and BunaMae Dice, are still active. There are 27 members in the class, and 14 of them, still active, range in age from 80 to 88 years. Jay Curry of Brookfield, a past president of the Ohio Baptist Convention, has been the class teacher for the past 30 years. At the celebration, members displayed pictures and other memorabilia of class activities.
Annual convocation
FARRELL, Pa. -- New and Living Way Apostolic Church will have its 23rd Annual Holy Convocation with the theme "Earnestly Contending for the Faith."
The convocation starts at 7 p.m. Thursday. No events are scheduled Friday. Next Saturday, an intercessory prayer workshop will be at 10 a.m. and a leadership workshop with Audrey Aikens of Raven Ministries, Swissvale, Pa., will be at 1 p.m. The Rev. Michael Mangold, pastor of Apostolic Lighthouse, Frederick, Md., will speak at 6 p.m. Saturday and at the service at 11 a.m. Nov. 24.
Protests scheduled
YOUNGSTOWN -- Youngstown-area residents will represent the InterReligious Task Force on Central America today and Sunday during protests at the former School of the Americas at Fort Benning, Ga. The combat training school for Latin American soldiers has been renamed the Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation.
Northeast Ohioans will have a vigil at 2 p.m. Sunday at Cleveland's public square. The protest marks the anniversary of the 1989 assassination of six Jesuit priests, their housekeeper and her 15-year-old daughter. Some 19 of the officers were graduates of the U.S. Army School of the Americas. Three of five Salvadoran soldiers responsible for the abduction, rape and murder of Cleveland natives Sister Dorothy Kazel and laywoman Jean Donovan were graduates of the school.
Business seminar
YOUNGSTOWN -- Creative Resource Office Support Services Inc., a nonprofit resource center, will present a seminar on incorporating in the state of Ohio and applying for tax-exempt status, administration and marketing for the nonprofit sector; grant-seeking basics; and qualifications for faith-based initiatives. Financial seminars
STRUTHERS -- First Baptist Church of Struthers will present a free financial seminar from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church.

Concert and seminar
BOARDMAN -- A concert with John David Allen of Harbor Light Ministries and Gospel Outreach will appear at 7:15 p.m. today at Boardman Seventh-day Adventist Church as part of the New Beginnings Seminar. The seminar will be held at 7:30 p.m. each night through next Saturday. Call (330) 726-1645.

Martin Luther Lutheran
YOUNGSTOWN -- Thanksgiving services with Communion will be at 10 a.m. Nov. 28 in Martin Luther Lutheran Church. NILES -- Ron Sowers of Salem will be the speaker at Alpha & amp; Omega Ministries at 11 a.m. Sunday. He has worked to bring gospel concerts to the tri-state area.
Praise banquet set
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Lost Then Found Ministries Praise Banquet will be at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the Italian American Veterans Center. There will be a buffet-style dinner, an introduction to the new members of the band Lost Then Found, a preview of its new CD and a speaker. The event is free, but reservations must be made by Monday. Co-op creator speaks
CORTLAND -- Michael Zoughbi, a Palestinian Christian from Bethlehem, will share his experiences in the Middle East at 7 p.m. Dec. 1 in Cortland Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
