Lunar module replica
WARREN -- City council approved two ordinances Wednesday night, paving the way for a First Flight Lunar Module Project at Trumbull Plaza Shopping Center.
In 1936, Neil Armstrong, who would become the first man to walk on the moon, took his first airplane flight from the old Parkman Road airport.
The plaza is where the airport used to be.
Pete Perich, a city resident, plans to build a replica of the module Armstrong used on his moon flight at the site. The project is being done by volunteers.

HERMITAGE, Pa. -- An electrical fire routed members of the Joyce Likens family from their home at 1849 N. Water Ave.
Fire Marshal Robert Goeltz said the call came in around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The fire was caused by an electrical malfunction and gutted the kitchen, he said.
About 10 people live in the home but no one was injured, though an elderly woman was taken to a local hospital for observation, he said.
The house was hit by fire eight years ago but was rebuilt, Goeltz said.
