ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Mike Comrie scored twice, and the Edmonton Oilers beat the Minnesota Wild in the first meeting this season between the Northwest Division rivals. Comrie scored early in the first and second periods for the Oilers, unbeaten (9-0-2-0) against Minnesota. Comrie, who has a team-leading eight goals, deflected a pass from Anson Carter less than two minutes into the game.
Devils 3, Mighty Ducks 2, OT
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Jamie Langenbrunner scored on a rebound 3:04 into overtime after New Jersey rallied for a tie.
Langenbrunner and Scott Gomez forced overtime by scoring 29 seconds apart midway through the third period against Jean-Sebastien Giguere to wipe out a 2-0 deficit. Andy McDonald and Marc Chouinard scored for Anaheim, which had its three-game winning streak snapped by falling apart late.
Maple Leafs 4, Kings 3, OT
TORONTO -- Mats Sundin scored his second goal of the game 3:20 into overtime as Toronto beat Los Angeles. Adam Deadmarsh scored twice in the third period for the Kings, who rallied from a three-goal deficit to force the extra session. Sundin scored off his own rebound, giving the Maple Leafs just their fifth win this season. Former Maple Leafs goalie Felix Potvin allowed three goals on the first five Toronto shots, but after Jamie Storr replaced him to start the third the Kings rallied with three goals.
Stars 4, Canadiens 2
MONTREAL -- Sergei Zubov, Manny Malhotra and Jason Arnott scored first-period goals to lead Dallas over Montreal. Pierre Turgeon got his 1,200th career point with an assist on Arnott's goal which put Dallas up 3-0 just 10:07 in. Jere Lehtinen scored into an empty net with 16.5 seconds left, and Ron Tugnutt made 21 saves as the Stars improved to 3-1-1 in their last five games. Dallas evened its record at 1-1 on a three-game road trip that concludes Wednesday in Washington.
Red Wings 4, Predators 1
DETROIT -- Brendan Shanahan scored twice, to break a nine-game goal drought, and added an assist to lead Detroit. Sergei Fedorov had a goal and two assists, and Darren McCarty had the other goal for the defending Stanley Cup Champions. Martin Erat scored for Nashville, which ended a franchise-high seven-game road trip 2-2-1-2. The Predators' last home game was a 3-1 victory over the Red Wings on Oct. 26.
Senators 5, Islanders 3
UNIONDALE, N.Y. -- Shaun Van Allen's goal early in the third period proved to be the game-winner as Ottawa hung on against New York. Zdeno Chara scored twice against his old team, and Todd White and Peter Schaefer also had goals for the Senators, who extended their unbeaten streak at Nassau Coliseum to 14 games (10-0-4). Martin Prusek earned his first NHL win with 29 saves.
Bruins 4, Sabres 3
BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Joe Thornton scored two goals as Boston extended the Buffalo's winless streak to nine games. The Sabres are 0-7-2 during the streak, three short of the team record of 12 set in 1991. They sit just one point ahead of Atlanta for the worst record in the NHL. Boston is the third team with 10 wins this season and the Bruins lead the Eastern Conference with 23 points. The win was Boston's 1,000th on the road.
Hurricanes 3, Coyotes 2
RALEIGH, N.C. -- Ron Francis had a goal and an assist, and Kevin Weekes stopped 27 shots for Carolina. Carolina improved to 4-0-1-1 six games into its franchise-record nine-game homestand, while the Coyotes dropped their third straight. Jan Hlavac, who came to the Hurricanes in a trade with Vancouver 11 days ago, scored his first in a Carolina uniform for the go-ahead goal with 7:37 left in the second period.
Canucks 6, Blues 3
VANCOUVER, British Columbia -- Todd Bertuzzi, Todd Warriner, Brendan Morrison and Artem Chubarov each had a goal and an assist as Vancouver ended a six-game winless streak at home by beating St. Louis. Trevor Linden and Trevor Letowski also scored, and Dan Cloutier made 25 saves for the Canucks, who rallied from an early 2-0 deficit to win at home for first time since their opener exactly one month ago.
