NILES -- A 38-year-old Warren man was arraigned this morning in Niles Municipal Court on charges of aggravated vehicular homicide and possession of drug paraphernalia in the weekend death of a Youngstown man.
Jail officials confirmed this morning that Clayton Booker was being held in the Trumbull County jail under $10,000 bond in the death of Kevin J. Dietz, 30, of Steel Street, Youngstown.

Mother faces charges
WARREN -- A 23-year-old Oregon Avenue N.W. woman was to appear in court today on charges of child endangering after police found her four children living in the home without running water or gas.
Shania Edmonds was arrested on the charges around 5:40 p.m. Monday and was being held in the Trumbull County jail.
The children were placed with relatives, police said.
Animal league event
WARREN -- Tickets are on sale for the Trumbull County Animal Welfare League's Chinese auction.
Tickets may be bought from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. today through Saturday at the organization's Thrift and Gift Shoppe, The Menagerie, 1010 N. Park Ave.

Tickets are $1 each or six for $5. Winners will be drawn at 2 p.m. Dec. 20 at the Menagerie. Winners don't have to be present.
Items available include Christmas decorations and a variety of collectibles.
Proceeds will benefit the league shelter and other programs.
Meeting date changed
NEWTON FALLS -- The board of education has changed its meeting from Wednesday to 7 p.m. Nov. 20 in Room 101 of the high school at 907 Milton Blvd.
School district support workers planned to go on strike at 12:01 a.m. Monday but could not because their union did not file an official 10-day advance notice.
Both sides said Monday contract negotiations with the 52-member union representing bus drivers, secretaries, cafeteria workers and aides will resume, but no date has been set.
Man reports attack
WARREN -- A 27-year-old Mahoning Avenue N.W. man told police that several men he invited into his home attacked him and stole his prescription medicine. The victim said the men struck him in his face several times around 4 a.m. today and took all of his OxyContin.
Overcoming a loss
YOUNGSTOWN -- People who have lost loved ones to homicide are invited to a session focusing on overcoming the loss.
Yvonne Pointer-Triplett of Cleveland will speak from 3 to 6 p.m. Nov. 23 at Oak Hill Renaissance Place on "Pain to Power."
Comfort Ministry of Youngstown is sponsoring the event.
Tickets are $5 and are available at Black, Phillips & amp; Holden Funeral Home.
Pointer-Triplett's 14-year-old daughter, Gloria, was killed in 1984.

Cleanup canceled
EAST PALESTINE -- City officials have canceled the citywide cleanup for 2003 as a cost-saving measure.
Council discussed offering the service to residents at a nominal fee, but opted instead to have the cleanup every other year.
City manager Gary Clark said disposing of unwanted household items costs the city about $6,000 annually.
Finance director Connie Robinson said the city will have about a $300,000 revenue shortfall at the end of 2002, mostly because of decreased income tax collections.
