City library forum
YOUNGSTOWN -- A forum on improvements to library buildings and services in the city will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in St. Dominic Parish Center, 3403 Southern Blvd. Speakers will be Carleton Sears, director of the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County, and a representative of Himmel & amp; Wilson library consultants. The public is invited to comment. The meeting is sponsored by the Southern Boulevard Block Watch.
Natural resource event
CANFIELD -- A Nov. 20 workshop, "Communities on the Cutting Edge: Innovative Ways to Protect Infrastructure, People and Water Quality," is an opportunity to see what other communities have done to save money and protect natural resources at the same time.
Susan Dicken of Mill Creek MetroParks and the Alliance for Watershed Action and Riparian Easements will conduct two sessions at the Mill Creek MetroParks Farm. The afternoon session runs from 1 to 4 p.m., and is for commissioners, zoning administrators, planners, engineers and other elected officials.
The evening session from 7 to 8:30 p.m. is designed for landowners. The workshops are free.
The workshop is sponsored by AWARE, Mahoning Soil and Water Conservation District, Mill Creek MetroParks and Youngstown State University. It is co-sponsored by the Mahoning County Planning Association, the League of Women Voters, the Mahoning Valley Home Builders and Remodelers Association and Audubon Society of the Mahoning Valley.

Citizens watch meeting
YOUNGSTOWN -- Judson Citizens Watch will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in Martin Luther Lutheran Church, 420 Clearmount Drive, across from Sheridan School. The speaker will be city Detective Jack Palma.
