Northside accreditation
YOUNGSTOWN -- Forum Health's Northside Medical Center has achieved accreditation from the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations because it demonstrated compliance with the commission's nationally recognized health-care standards. The Joint Commission's on-site survey of Northside Medical Center occurred in September.
President and CEO N. Kristopher Hoce credited the staff at Northside for their day-to-day efforts toward accreditation.

Senior health fair
GIRARD -- The Girard City Health Department's 2nd annual Senior Health Fair is from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, at the Girard Multi-Generational Center (old Tod Woods School) on Trumbull Avenue. More than 43 health-care and non-health-care agencies will be represented. Blood pressure checks, glaucoma screening, stroke screening and more are offered. Flu vaccine will be administered to any Girard resident who is 65 and over or who has a compromised immune system or a chronic disease. The cost is $10. Medicare is accepted. Call (330) 545-6048.
Stroke screening
