Kings 3, Senators 2
OTTAWA -- Bryan Smolinski's third goal of the season, early in the final period, led Los Angeles over Ottawa.
Erik Rasmussen and Mathieu Schneider also scored, and Felix Potvin made 28 saves for Los Angeles. The Kings are 1-1 on a season-high eight-game road trip.
Wade Redden and Radek Bonk scored power-play goals for the Senators, who outshot the Kings 30-20. Ottawa had beaten Colorado and Detroit in its two most recent starts following a four-game winless streak.
Mike Cammalleri made his NHL debut for the Kings. The 20-year-old center played on a line with Zigmund Palffy and Adam Deadmarsh, and drew an assist on Schneider's goal.
Islanders 4, Oilers 2
UNIONDALE, N.Y. -- Dave Scatchard scored twice, and Chris Osgood made 31 saves as New York snapped a six-game losing streak.
Adrian Aucoin and Shawn Bates also scored for the Islanders, who got two assists from Brad Isbister.
Ryan Smyth and Jason Chimera had goals for Edmonton, while Tommy Salo stopped 20 shots.
There were three fights in the ornery first period, which featured 48 total penalty minutes.
Stars 2, Maple Leafs 1
DALLAS -- Ed Belfour played well in his first game against his former teammates since signing with Toronto, but goals by Pierre Turgeon and Jason Arnott gave the Stars the victory.
Belfour's former Stars backup, Marty Turco, stopped 22 shots, making an outstanding glove save to deny Bryan McCabe from 25 feet with 29 seconds left. Dallas improved to 5-0-0-1 at home.
Belfour, who had 21 saves, was Dallas' starter for five seasons, backstopping the Stars' Stanley Cup run in 1999.
Josh Holden scored a second-period goal in his Maple Leafs debut.
Mighty Ducks 3, Avalanche 2, OT
DENVER -- Niclas Havelid scored 20 seconds into overtime, and Anaheim extended Colorado's worst start at home.
The Avalanche continued to struggle on the power play -- going 0-for-6 -- and remained the only Western Conference team without a win at home (0-4-3). Atlanta also has not won at home.
Havelid beat David Aebischer to the gloveside, one-timing a pass from Paul Kariya for his first goal this season.
Ruslan Salei and Patric Kjellberg had the other Anaheim goals. Radim Vrbata and Alex Tanguay scored for Colorado.
