Scouting report: Mount Union rolled past Marietta, 56-10, last Saturday to stretch its NCAA-best winning streak to 36 games. Ohio Northern blanked Wilmington, 31-0, for its third straight win. Sophomore DT Josh Ludwig (East Liverpool) registered a team-best six tackles in his first career start for Mount Union. Junior TE Randall Knapp had a 78-yard kickoff return, while senior RB Dan Pugh turned in his sixth 100-yard rushing performance for the season, and went over the 1,000-yard mark. Freshman RB Derek Garrod (Columbiana) of Ohio Northern piled up a career-high 222 yards in 31 carries and two TDs of 7 and 2 yards, in Ohio Northern's romp past Wilmington.

Scouting report: Hiram was blanked by Denison, 14-0, last week while Wabash, the NCAC leader, shattered Wooster's undefeated streak, 42-22. Freshman RB Tim Anderson led Hiram offensively with 73 yards rushing on 25 carries, while sophomore FB Don Waddington contributed 46 yards on 14 attempts, and senior receiver Mike Sandy had four receptions for 31 yards. On defense, junior safety Josh Smith had 10 total tackles and two interceptions, while senior LB Brad Maguth had nine tackles and senior DT Bob Bastian eight.

Scouting report: Westminster lost to Frostburg State, 24-17; Thomas More beat Maryville (Tenn.), 56-7. Junior WR Brian Ekis (Boardman) of Westminster had career-highs of five catches for 100 yards against Frostburg State, and was named Offensive Titan of the Week. Sophomore OLB Jerry Bonenberger had 11 tackles, including four unassisted, and a pass breakup, to be selected Defensive Titan of the Week. Freshman DB Jay McGee had one solo tackle and two assists as a member of the Titan kicking and punt-coverage units, and was picked Special Teams Titan of the Week.

Scouting report: Grove City broke a four-game losing streak by beating Alfred, 12-7, while the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy beat Western Connecticut State, 20-17. Freshman FS Ross Trimmer had two pass interceptions for Grove City, and was named Presidents' Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week. QB Todd Smargiasso (Wilmington Area) threw a 6-yard TD pass to Mark Byer, who had three catches for the game. Steve Roberts scored on a 1-yard run. Mike Choby had eight tackles and forced a fumble.
