MERCER COUNTY Farrell woman will be in jail, then on probation
The woman was involved in beating up another woman.
MERCER, Pa. -- A Farrell woman will serve a jail term for attacking another woman last spring.
Common Pleas Judge Thomas Dobson sentenced Audrey Harris, 21, of Emerson Avenue, on Tuesday to one to 12 months for felony criminal trespassing, followed by one year's probation for misdemeanor simple assault.
On April 1, according to court documents, Harris and another woman went to a Mesabi Street, Sharon, residence and kicked and punched the victim. Harris then struck her in the head several times with a lamp with a broken bulb, causing cuts to the victim's nose, eye area and finger.
In other court action:
UDonna Miller, 29, of Orchard Street, Sharon, was placed on 18 months' probation and ordered to make restitution for forgery, a misdemeanor. According to court documents, she and an accomplice took checks belonging to a Sharon man and forged his signature on 12 of them, totaling $713. The checks were passed at Wal-Mart and D'Onfrio's Food Center in Hermitage.
UCharles Norris, 29, of Mesabi Street, Farrell, was sentenced to one day to one year for disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor. On Dec. 19, 2001, Norris harassed a woman who had provided police with information about his involvement in a crime, according to court documents. He made threatening phone calls to her, drove his vehicle past her residence playing excessively loud music with threatening lyrics, and walked around her Sharon residence while carrying a long, narrow object. He was given 113 days' credit for time served.
UTina Wilson, 42, of Fleetwood Court, Wheatland, was sentenced to six months in the Intermediate Punishment Program and ordered to serve 100 hours of community service for a misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia. Last February, according to court documents, she permitted her 17-year-old son to grow two marijuana plants in his bedroom closet. She also possessed various items commonly used for smoking marijuana.
