Hunkus, Mroski first-team all-state for 2nd straight year

COLUMBUS -- For the second straight year, Girard senior Tealle Hunkus and Hubbard senior Katy Jo Mroski earned first team All-Ohio honors as voted by the Ohio Volleyball Coaches Association.
Hunkus, a 6-foot middle hitter who led the Indians to their first regional title last weekend, made first team in Division III. She will play at Duke University next fall.
Mroski, a 6-2 middle hitter, earned first team honors in Div. II. She led the Eagles to their third straight district title and will play at Indiana University next fall. Her teammate, senior Monika Rajkovicova, earned third team honors.
Hubbard coach Chuck Montgomery was one of five coaches in Div. II to receive a Coach's Achievement Award.
Fitch junior Maggie Case, who earned third team all-state honors last year, made the Division I first team. Case (5-10) was a starter on last year's state tournament team and led the Falcons to their fourth straight district title.
Salem junior Lauren Teal earned honorable mention honors in Div. II.
