Third-grade pupils at West Elementary School in Youngstown make edible replicas of their future school with the help of Heery International Inc., the project's construction manager. Above, school principal Sandy Kelty, center, gives a helping hand to pupils Brandon Wilks, left, Gary Fusillo and Abraham Garcia. The children built their structures Monday out of graham crackers, frosting and candies atop photocopied blueprints of the proposed school building. At left, Rudy Zamarripa explains different parts of the model to teacher Patty Culcasi. The new school will be built at Schenley Park and is part of the Youngstown school district's $182.5 million, six-year schools construction and renovation project.
