Volleyball starsto compete
EAST FAIRFIELD -- The Inter-County League and the Tri-County League will play a five-game all-star volleyball match at Crestview High School on Nov. 13, starting at 7 p.m.
The TCL stars hold a 4-2 lead in the series.
The TCL team is coached by Jason Jones of Crestview while Bill Knight of Springfield will coach the ICL.
Valley officialsto state tournament
DAYTON -- For the 22nd year John Rorick and Jim Pepperney of the Mahoning Valley Volleyball Officials Association will officiate games in the state tournament.
Other members of the MVVOA to work games this weekend at Wright State are Kevin McKinstry (15nd year), Pat Gaia (10), Joyce Ramsey (6), Glen Windram (3) and Rick Shriver (2).
Hubbard youthtapped by Browns
HUBBARD -- Hubbard High junior Andrew Tucciarone was recently selected by clevelandbrowns.com as "Correspondent of the Week" for his article about the Hubbard-Brookfield football game that appeared on the NFL team's website.
Tucciarone is now in the running for a chance to cover a Browns home game.

Motor City Bowl moves to Detroit
DETROIT -- The Motor City Bowl will finally take place in the Motor City.
After five years at the Pontiac Silverdome, the bowl game will move to Ford Field in downtown Detroit and will match the Mid-American Conference champion and the Big Ten's seventh bowl-eligible team.
The Big Ten and Motor City Bowl signed a four-year contract Monday.
ESPN will broadcast the Motor City Bowl at 5 p.m. Dec. 26

* ST. LOUIS -- When Kurt Warner is ready to play again, and that could be as soon as Nov. 18 for the St. Louis Rams.
Warner had pins removed from his broken right pinky and should be able to pass in practice Thursday. Team doctors say the finger is not completely healed, but it's close enough and he's scheduled to begin taking snaps Nov. 13.
* The NFL ended the suspension of New Orleans Saints cornerback Dale Carter, who had been prohibited from playing for violating the substance abuse policy.
Carter was suspended indefinitely in July, only months after signing a seven-year, $28 million contract with the Saints.
Carolina Panthers defensive tackle Brentson Buckner was suspended for four games for violating the NFL's steroid policy.

MADISON, Miss. -- Luke Donald was hoping for a little more drama for his first PGA Tour victory. The rookie from England won the Southern Farm Bureau Classic when the final round was canceled because of rain.
The 24-year-old Donald became the 18th first-time winner on the PGA Tour this season with a 54-hole total of 15-under 201 at the Annandale Golf Club course, one stroke ahead of Deane Pappas.

* ST. LOUIS -- The St. Louis Blues signed goalie Tom Barrasso, days after reaching a tentative agreement with the 18-year NHL veteran.
* DENVER -- Colorado Avalanche goaltender Patrick Roy did not start against Vancouver because of a hip injury. Roy's status was listed as day-to-day.
No money for King
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- A jury refused to award any money to Don King in his fight with rival promoter Bob Arum over rights to boxer Julio Cesar Chavez.
The six-member jury deliberated for three hours before rejecting claims that Arum's Las Vegas-based Top Rank Inc. interfered with three agreements between King and Chavez.

CHICAGO -- Dave Sarachan was hired as coach of the Chicago Fire of MLS after working as the top assistant on the U.S. national team that reached the World Cup quarterfinals in June.

* TORONTO -- Raptors star Vince Carter is expected to miss at least one or two weeks after re-injuring his left quadriceps tendon this past weekend.
* DALLAS -- Dallas Mavericks center Raef LaFrentz will miss three-to-six weeks with a severely sprained right ankle. He was injured in a game Saturday.

TORONTO -- Clark Gillies was reunited with New York Islander linemates Bryan Trottier and Mike Bossy in the Hockey Hall of Fame.
Gillies was enshrined with Bernie Federko, the St. Louis Blues playmaker, and Rod Langway, the American who won a Stanley Cup with Montreal and twice won the Norris Trophy as best defenseman with Washington.
