COLUMBIANA CORNER Bad girls, Bad girls: Whatcha gonna do?
Salem police were called recently to a home in the 900 block of East Fifth Street by a man who wanted them to speak to his daughter about her lying and stealing.
Police obliged with a lecture on the need to avoid such behavior.
Let's just hope the girl remembers it -- she's 4 years old.
Headache pay
Leetonia Board of Education recently hired Harold McCue, former head coach of the varsity boys basketball team at South Range High School, as an assistant coach for Leetonia High School's varsity girls basketball team. McCue is a teacher in the Austintown schools.
The hiring prompted a discussion between Leetonia Superintendent Tom Inchak and a reporter about the many headaches coaches endure over the course of a season, dealing with players, parents, officials and fans. Inchak said McCue will be paid $1,430 for the season. "That's about 10 cents per headache," Inchak joked.
