Above, Carl Steepleton Construction of Alliance employees, from left, Jim Mehl, Jim Rogers and Joe Brancker, position a beam into place on a covered bridge being built in Salem Township just off Eagleton Road. The bridge is replacing the Teegarden Centennial Covered Bridge over the Middle Fork of the Little Beaver Creek, a historical bridge originally built in 1876. Several beams from the original bridge were salvaged and are being used in the new span, which is being built along the creek bank and will be lifted into place using a crane. At left, Brancker uses a wooden mallet he calls a "beetle" to move a beam into place. At right, wooden pegs and other traditional woodworking items are being used in the bridge construction.
