Pishkurs mark 60th anniversary at family dinner
XHUBBARD -- Mr. and Mrs. Rudy J. Pishkur, 46 School St., celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Nov. 2 at a family dinner at the Log Cabin in Zelienople, Pa.
Celebrating the occasion with the couple were their daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and Tom Ferrand of Columbiana and Nancy and George Mezey of Mars, Pa.; their six grandchildren; and two great-grandsons.
The former Marjorie Ritenour and Mr. Pishkur were married Nov. 1, 1942, in Neosha, Mo., where he was stationed in the U.S. Army. He later served in intelligence in Washington. He retired in 1976 as director of construction and engineering for the A & amp;P Tea Co., where he was employed for 40 years. He is past president and past lieutenant governor of Zone 4 of the Hubbard Optimist Club and is past president of the Girard Oldtimers. He serves as secretary of the Baseball Oldtimers of Youngstown, of which he is a member of its hall of fame and was named King of the Realm in 2000.
Mrs. Pishkur was employed as a legal secretary for Judge Ray J. Rice and then as deputy clerk at the District Court in Brookfield prior to retiring.
The Pishkurs are members of Brookfield United Methodist Church.
