PITTSBURGH -- Mario Lemieux scored one goal and set up three others, and Kent Manderville broke a tie with 3:30 to play as Pittsburgh beat Tampa Bay. Tampa Bay's Martin St. Louis scored goals 7:57 apart in the third period to tie it with 4 minutes left. But Manderville scored his first goal of the season 30 seconds later, and Lemieux added an empty-net goal to stretch his scoring streak to 10 games. Lemieux, the league's leading scorer, has seven goals and 27 points through 11 games. Alexei Kovalev, who assisted on Lemieux's goal, also scored two power-play goals to extend his scoring streak to 10 games and give him 10 goals in the last eight. Jan Hrdina also scored for Pittsburgh. Vinny Prospal added a goal for the Lightning.
Canadiens 5, Maple Leafs 2
TORONTO -- Oleg Petrov and Richard Zednik each scored twice to lead Montreal to its first victory at the Air Canada Center. Jeff Hackett made 30 saves for the Canadiens, who last won in Toronto on Dec. 26, 1998, the final game between the Original Six rivals at Maple Leaf Gardens. Andrei Markov added an empty-net goal for the Canadiens.
Devils 5, Blackhawks 1
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Jamie Langenbrunner got New Jersey going with a goal 10 seconds into the game and added another score in the first period, helping the Devils beat Chicago. The Devils have won six straight games against the Blackhawks. The line of Langenbrunner, Jay Pandolfo and John Madden combined for six points, with Pandolfo getting a goal. Joe Nieuwendyk and Patrik Elias also scored for New Jersey, 4-1 in its last five games. Martin Brodeur made 18 saves, allowing only Lyle Odelein's goal.
Blues 6, Islanders 1
UNIONDALE, N.Y. -- Scott Mellanby and Cory Stillman each had a goal and assist as St. Louis won its seventh straight game, spoiling the return of Islanders captain Michael Peca. Fred Brathwaite made 19 saves, and Dallas Drake, Martin Rucinsky, rookie Eric Boguniecki and Bryce Salvador also scored for St. Louis, which got three assists from Pavol Demitra. Peca played for the first time since tearing a knee ligament on April 26 when he hit by Toronto's Darcy Tucker in the first round of the playoffs. He returned about a month before he was expected, but played only the first shift of the game. Jason Blake scored for New York.
Bruins 3, Rangers 2
BOSTON -- Brian Berard scored on a deflected shot with 38.8 seconds left as Boston rallied from a two-goal deficit. New York led 2-0 after two periods on goals by Rem Murray and Mark Messier, but Joe Thornton and Sean Brown scored 2:13 apart early in the third to tie it. Steve Shields stopped 25 shots for Boston. 7-1-2-0 in its last 10 games.
Senators 5, Red Wings 2
OTTAWA -- Magnus Arvedson, Brad Smyth, Shaun Van Allen and Todd White scored their first goals of the season for Ottawa. Petr Schastlivy added his fourth of the season, and Patrick Lalime made 20 saves as Ottawa ended a four-game winless streak Brett Hull had a goal and assisted on Henrik Zetterberg's shorthanded goal for Detroit.
Thrashers 3, Panthers 1
SUNRISE, Fla. -- Frantisek Kaberle and Tony Hrkac each scored third-period goals as the Atlanta Thrashers snapped a 19-game winless streak by beating the Florida Panthers. The Thrashers, who started the season 0-8-1-1, won for the first time since March 23 of last season against Ottawa. Atlanta's Pasi Nurminen made 21 saves. Atlanta took a 2-1 lead 43 seconds into the third period. Kristian Huselieus tried to clear the puck from in front of the crease but bumped Valeri Bure into Florida goalie Roberto Luongo. PHILADELPHIA -- Dennis Seidenberg and Keith Primeau scored goals in Philadelphia's fifth straight victory. The Flyers, 5-0-1 at home, are off to an 8-1-2 start under new coach Ken Hitchcock. Jaromir Jagr scored for Washington, 1-6-1 in its last eight games.
