'Empowerment' pastorto speak in Youngstown
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Rev. Jamal Harrison Bryant will speak at 6 p.m. Sunday at Mount Calvary Pentecostal Church. He is the founder of Empowerment Temple A.M.E. Church, one of the fastest-growing churches in the history of the denomination. The church started with 43 members and after its first two years has more than 5,000. The Rev. Christmas programs
WARREN -- First Church of the Nazarene is presenting two Christmas programs.
The first is a Christmas concert with recording artist Marvin Matthews at 10:30 a.m. Dec. 1. He has recorded eight releases and has ministered throughout the United States. An offering will be taken.
The second is a free drive-through Nativity scene from 6 to 9 p.m. Dec. 6-8. The event is free.

Institute presentation
STRUTHERS -- The Institute for Creation Research, Santee, Calif., will sponsor a "Creation Presentation" by Mike Riddle at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Struthers Baptist Tabernacle. Riddle, an adjunct speaker for the institute, will discuss whether science and creationism are compatible.

WARREN -- The Catholic Diocese of Youngstown will have its first Diocese Children's Choir Festival at 6 p.m. Nov. 17 at Blessed Sacrament Church. More than 100 youths will perform under the director of Christine Riley of the Canton Children's Civic Opera Chorus.
