Harvey namedplayer of week
BOARDMAN -- Brooks Harvey of the Phantom Rockets was named Continental Elite Hockey League Player of the Week.
Harvey netted three goals and assisted on four others in helping the Phantom Rockets go 2-1, with wins over Traverse City and Dayton and a loss to Toledo.
A team captain, Harvey, of Alberta, Calgary, plays the center position. His four goals tie him for fourth place in the league.

YOUNGSTOWN -- Matt Brumit, a Youngstown State baseball standout, was named the best draft pick taken in rounds 23 through 50 in the 2002 Major League Baseball Amateur Draft by Baseball America for his efforts with the Staten Island Yankees.
He led the Class A affiliate of the New York Yankees to the New York-Penn League championship in his first professional season, posting a league-best 22 saves, a 1-2 record and a 2.21 ERA.
Brumit was also named the Rolaids Relief Man of the Year in the NY-Penn League late in September.
At YSU, the 44th round pick (1,323 overall) went 10-14 with a 6.05 ERA over the course of his four-year career. He ranks tied for fifth in games started with 27 and fourth in appearances with 52 in school history.

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- Westminster College volleyball player Katie Spehar has been selected the Presidents' Athletic Conference Player of the Week.
Spehar, a 6-foot senior middle hitter, tallied 14 kills and four blocks as the Titans (23-9, 10-0) beat Washington & amp; Jefferson 32-30, 30-23, 30-23.
Srock has big game
BERLIN CENTER -- Luke Srock, a junior running back for the Western Reserve High football team, had an outstanding performance that went unreported as he led the Blue Devils to a 27-6 win over Mathews last Friday night at Berlin Center.
Srock rushed for 208 yards in 32 carries and three touchdowns as Western Reserve won its first Inter-County League game after six losses, and ended play at 3-7 overall.
