K.O. DRUGS A month of action culminates tonight

Hubbard High has 13 fighters in championship fights.
HUBBARD -- The 15th annual K.O. Drugs High School Boxing Tournament will crown its champions tonight in the fifth and final night of action, with 34 bouts scheduled at Hubbard High gymnasium.
Twenty-three high schools are still represented, with Hubbard leading the way with 13 competing for crowns. Boardman and Liberty have eight fighters each scheduled for action tonight. Campbell Memorial has five boxers competing for championships.
An anticipated bout has undefeated fighters Robert Williamson (Sharon, 2-0) and Mike Marvin (Liberty, 3-0) battling for the upperclass super middleweight title after they shared the middleweight crown last year when they fought to a draw in their title fight.
Justin Wess (Hubbard, 3-0), Dan Ramun (Poland, 2-0), Dominic Leonelli (Wilson, 3-0), Frank Sackela (Fitch, 3-0) and Billy DeCola (Canfield, 2-0-1) are among the returning upperclass champions.
The junior middleweight bout in the upperclass division between Hubbard's Chris Horton (3-0) and Western Reserve's Ryan Engelhardt (3-1) has two of the tournament's busiest fighters banging against each other.
Another top upperclass bout between a pair of tough little men puts Woodrow Wilson's Dominic Leonelli (3-0) in against Tom Fiscus (2-1) from Struthers.
Ursuline teammates
A pair of Ursuline football performers, John Butler (3-0) and Juan Vega (2-0) will compete for underclass crowns against very worthy opponents. Butler faces Kiez Smith (2-1) from Boardman in a super welterweight bout, and Vega in a super heavyweight match goes against Steve Irgang (2-1) from Liberty.
Liberty and Hubbard has an upperclass female heavyweight bout on tap that will come near the end of the evening's card.
The doors will open at 6 p.m. with the first bout at 7. Tickets are $10 at the door. For more information call (330) 702-1122.
