Tyler Young tosses no-hitter; Becdir, Propane, Livi win two



STRUTHERS -- Tyler Young tossed a no-hitter as Roth Brothers defeated Youngstown Express 9-1 in holiday weekend Class B action at Cene Park.
Adam Deford had three hits and three RBIs for Roth and Kyle Barker had two.
Brian Sterling struck out 11 batters in the five-and-two-thirds innings he pitched for Express.
Becdir 5, Roth 4: Winning pitcher Ralph Festa's two hits included a double. Steve Ripple had two RBIs for Roth.
Rondinelli 8, Youngstown Express 4: Jeff Melnick and Rick Vickers teamed up for the pitching win. Dean Palombaro and Jason King had doubles for the winners. Tim Dewberry and Bobby Kaaikaula had triples for Express.
Youngstown Propane 9, Rondinelli 2: Gary Hinkson and Dan Cashon had triples and Paul Suhar drove in two runs for Propane.
Becdir 6, Line Drive 1: Wes Lambert homered and Matt Bradley had two RBIs for Becdir. Dimitrios Makridis had two of Line Drive's five hits.
Livi Steel 10, Lazart 0: Elliot Steverson and Sean Lucas had doubles for Livi.
Line Drive 5, Lazart 3: Vasili Pahoulis had two RBIs and a double for Line Drive. For Lazart, Mike Babyak and Jason Poster had doubles.
Livi Steel 7, Riordan Sports 6: Sean Lucas tripled and brought in two runs for Livi. Phil Butch and Bobby Miller also had two hits for the winners. For Riordan, Mike Bashline, Joe Toth and Jeff Dunston had two hits each.
Youngstown Propane 15, Astro Falcons 14: Matt McConnell had three hits while Gary Hinkson, Phil Faraglia and Dan Cashon had two for the winners. Cashon and Jared Bogan each drove in three runs. For the Falcons, Chad Baker had three hits while Frank Turocy and Adam Coco had two.
Class AA: YOUNGSTOWN -- Jolly Joe's managed just two hits but defeated Tamburros, 4-2, at Oakland Field. Rob Tamburro homered.
