Gunman robs driver
YOUNGSTOWN -- A New Middletown man was robbed by gunpoint while stopped at a traffic signal.
Police say the 21-year-old man reported he was stopped at the intersection of Fifth Avenue and Federal Street when a red Ford Mustang driven by a black female pulled up next to him.
A black male passenger pointed a gun out the window and demanded his cash; he handed over $200 in $20 bills.
The Mustang had a plate reading "Vintage" on the front, and possibly had a temporary tag on the rear, according to reports.
Grant to fix plumbing
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Rescue Mission of Mahoning Valley was the recipient of a $3,000 grant from Ruth H. Beecher Charitable Trust, which will be used for plumbing needs in the resident building at 962 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
Holiday Inns takepart in blood drives
BOARDMAN -- Managers at the Holiday Inn Boardman will head to the top of the hotel Wednesday for a Roof Top Challenge in an American Red Cross blood drive.
A manager will be on the roof at all times until the goal of collecting 100 pints of blood is met. The blood drive will be from noon until 6 p.m. at the Holiday Inn, 7410 South Ave. Holiday Inn MetroPlex, 620 Motor Inn Drive, Liberty, also will have a blood drive that day from noon to 6 p.m.
All registered blood donors will receive a free lunch coupon and a raffle chance to win a Holiday Inn overnight getaway package.

YOUNGSTOWN -- Diocese of Youngstown reminds the public that all artificial decorations must be removed from graves in these cemeteries before next Monday: Calvary (Youngstown), The Resurrection (Austintown), All Soul's (Cortland) and Calvary (Massillon). Cleanup begins at those cemeteries at 7:30 a.m. June 4.
3 men arrestedin pellet-gun shooting
COITSVILLE -- Police arrested three men on charges of firing pellet gun rounds into a residential neighborhood.
Officers responded to a call about shots being fired at 6:50 p.m. Saturday on Overlook Boulevard in Lowellville and encountered someone in a woods shooting over the road and hitting branches on trees over the officers' heads.
Police from Coitsville, Lowellville and Struthers searched the woods and found three 20-year-old men firing at various targets with a pellet gun.
Arrested on charges of discharging a firearm near prohibited premises were Anthony M. Romeo of 151 Shadyside Drive, Youngstown; Philip A. Krauss of 856 Larkridge Ave., Youngstown; and Shea M. Graham of 7669 E. Parkside Drive, Boardman.
Romeo and Krauss were released after posting 10 percent bond, and Graham was taken to the Mahoning County Jail after being unable to post bond.
The three will appear in Campbell Municipal Court at 9 a.m. Friday for arraignment.
Police seek gunmanwho robbed KFC
YOUNGSTOWN -- Police are searching for a man who robbed a South Avenue fast-food restaurant of more than $1,000.
The manager of the KFC at 2705 South Ave. reported to police that after opening the doors for business at 11 a.m. Sunday, she saw a man hiding behind the counter.
A black male wearing a gray hooded sweat shirt and black nylons over his face pointed a black semiautomatic pistol and demanded money.
After filling a brown paper lunch bag with the money, the suspect left the parking lot on a red mountain bike, headed westbound on Cornell Street.
The suspect is described as in his 20s, about 6 feet 3 inches tall, weighing roughly 170 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
