AUCTIONS
XSt. Lucy Roman Catholic Church, 394 Tenney Ave., Campbell, will hold a Chinese auction Sunday at the parish center. Doors open at noon, and drawings will begin at 3 p.m. Tickets are $4 and include cake and coffee or tea.
XSalem Christian Academy, corner of Pine Lake Road and state Route 45 N, Salem, will hold an auction at 10 a.m. Saturday. BAZAARS
XA spring bazaar is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at the Calvin Center of the Hungarian Presbyterian Church, 755 Mahoning Ave. Lunch will feature kolbasi-stuffed cabbage, potato, salad, bread, dessert, and coffee or tea. Reservations are required for eating in or taking out. Reservation deadline is Thursday. The cost is $7 for adults and $4 for children. BOOK SALES
XUnity Church Center, 1226 Naylor Lloyd Road, Girard, will hold its 12th annual used book sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday. Proceeds will support church programs. For information call the church office at (330) 539-0122.
RACES
XYoungstown YMCA and Donnell Ford will co-sponsor a Memorial 5 event on May 25 featuring a five-mile race beginning at 9 a.m. and a half-mile kids fun run beginning at 8:30 a.m. Participants will start and end at the YMCA, 17 N. Champion St., Youngstown. Preregistration forms are available from the sponsors and at sporting goods stores in the area. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. race day. SALES
XBrownlee Woods Presbyterian Church, 1970 Everett Ave., will hold a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, which will feature $1 a bag day.
XCalvary United Methodist Church, 12062 South Ave., North Lima, will sponsor its 20th annual chicken barbecue and lawn sale Saturday. The sale will be held from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and chicken barbecue dinners will be available from 4 to 7 p.m. at a cost of $7 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. Carryout service will be available, and meals will feature a half chicken, baked potato, green beans, applesauce, rolls and butter, homemade pie, cold drinks and coffee.
XLowellville Garden Club will hold a geranium sale from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the downtown gazebo. Orders may be placed with any club member. Tickets will be sold at the event for a drawing to be held May 22 for a wheelbarrow filled with garden supplies.
XOblate Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Auxiliary will hold a garage sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Oblate Convent Cassini Hall, 50 Warner Road, Hubbard.
XOhltown United Methodist Church, 2001 Ohltown Road, Austintown, will hold a trash and treasure sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Among things to be sold are tools, furniture, household items, books and records. There will be no clothing. Food will be available.
