Grave decorations
YOUNGSTOWN -- Families of veterans are reminded that flag holders should be in place on veterans' graves by Wednesday in preparation for graves decoration day Saturday.
The rain date is May 25.
The flag holders are issued by the Veterans Service Commission, but families are responsible for complying with individual cemetery rules regarding the placement and removal of the holders.
Saying 'thank you'
In recognition of Armed Forces Day, which is Saturday, the American Legion has created a special "thank you" card that can be sent free of charge to military personnel via e-mail.
The sender must know the service person's e-mail address to send the cards. After that, senders can visit the Legion's web site -- www.legion.org -- click on the e-card link, fill in the information, select the appropriate branch of the service emblem, type the message, and click on send.

OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM
Naval builder
FARRELL, Pa. -- Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Robert A. Scarmack, son of Robert J. and Cathy Scarmack, both of Farrell, served as a builder with Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 133 in Guam, Diego Garcia and Bahrain in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. He is a 1998 graduate of Farrell Area High School.
