Scenic Rivers Programplans quality workshop
Stream quality monitoring workshops for four of Ohio's designated wild and scenic rivers in northeastern Ohio will be held in May.
The workshops will be from 5-7 p.m. on: May 16, for the Chagrin River at the Old River Farm picnic shelter, north Chagrin Reservation on Chagrin River Road; May 20 for the Little Beaver Creek at Beaver Creek State Park; May 23 for Grand River at the Hidden Valley picnic shelter, Klasen Road off state Route 528; May 30 for the Upper Cuyahoga River at Camp Hi canoe livery, Abbot Road off state Route 82.

Fish fries planned
Fish fries are being planned by two local clubs.
The Lowellville Rod & amp; Gun Club will hold its annual spring fish fry May 17. Carry-out dinners will be available from 3-5 p.m. with regular dinners from 6:30 to 9 p.m.
There is a $10 donation and beverages are free. The club is located on Quarry Road off U.S. Route 224.
The Eastern Ohio Conservation Club, 10366 W. Calla Road, Salem, will hold its spring fish fry stag from 6 to 8 p.m. May 18. Tickets are $12 and available in advance only. For information call (330) 799-7393 or (330) 799-4776.
Youth day in Salem
The Salem Hunting Club will hold its 20th annual free Youth Day at 1p.m. May 19. Registration for the event will start at 12:30 p.m. Youths age 8 to 15 are invited to attend for shooting and archery contests. Prizes and a hot dog roast are planned. The club is one mile west of Salem on state Route 62.
