Haustoviches honored for 50th at surprise party

YOUNGSTOWN -- A surprise party was held May 11 at Cipriano's Restaurant in Ravenna in celebration of the 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Haustovich of Youngstown.
Hosts for the event were the couple's son, Frank Haustovich of Mars, Pa.; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Bob Lee of Champion; and their daughter-in-law, Debbie Haustovich of Youngstown. Another son, Mark Haustovich, is deceased.
Mr. Haustovich and the former Elizabeth Kirkner were married May 10, 1952, at St. Brendan Church. He was employed for 40 years at Aeroquip Republic Rubber as a chemist, and also did consulting work as vice president of Salem Republic Rubber in Sebring from 1972 until retiring in 1987.
His wife worked as a secretary with Youngstown City School District prior to retiring in 1981. She volunteered for 20 years with Meals on Wheels until this year and has been a volunteer reader for Youngstown Radio Reading for the past 15 years.
The couple are members of St. Christine Church. Two grandchildren complete their family.
