YOUNGSTOWN -- "Choosing a security alarm system for your home or small business'' will be the topic of the Southern Boulevard Block Watch meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday in St. Dominic Parish Center, 3403 Southern Blvd. Representatives of the police department, Better Business Bureau and a security systems company will be on hand. A neighborhood cleanup will begin two hours before the meeting.

YOUNGSTOWN -- Alexander Sanger, chairman of the International Planned Parenthood Council, is keynote speaker at Planned Parenthood of Mahoning Valley's annual dinner May 20 in Stambaugh Auditorium. Sanger, grandson of Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger, was named One of the 100 Most Influential People on the Planet in 1995 by Earth Times and is writing a book on the future of the reproductive rights movement. CANFIELD -- The American Cancer Society says it is not affiliated with "look-alikes" soliciting funds in the area. Al Stabilito, communications and advocacy director, said ACS is one of only a few cancer agencies in America that meet all the standards set by the National Charities Information Bureau.
