South Range will dedicate new strength training center

NORTH LIMA -- The new South Range High School strength training facility will be dedicated at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
The strength training facility, located at the high school, 11836 South Ave., was built by the South Range School Foundation, using donations of money, materials and labor from alumni, parents, staff, community organizations and friends of South Range Local Schools.
The donations of time, materials and labor totaled more than $150,000. The foundation donated the building to South Range Local School District.
What it's for
Students use the facility to develop strength, endurance and agility. The regular use of the program will help athletes be safer, stronger and more successful, school district officials said in a press release.
Phil and Gerry Rominger donated $50,000. The Romingers, successful builders and entrepreneurs in North Carolina, grew up in Beaver Township.
Their generosity was prompted by the pride they have in their alma mater, their love of their hometown, and their interest in projects that help youth, school officials said.
Dale and Alyce Sheely, the now-retired founders of the Sheely Furniture Store, donated $30,000. The Sheelys' children and grandchildren attend or have attended school here. The Sheelys have been longtime supporters of school activities and programs that support youth, school district officials added.
