Police search for suspect in case

NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- Police are searching for a 25-year-old Leon Drive man wanted on charges of aggravated assault, kidnapping, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and harassment.
Police said the man forced his ex-girlfriend out of her Farrell home Tuesday night and told her to take him to her new boyfriend's house. Police said the woman picked a house at random on Epworth Street, ran inside and hid behind a 46-year-old man.
Police said the ex-boyfriend had a knife and stabbed the 46-year-old in the upper arm. The man was later treated at St. Francis Hospital. A second man in the house ran out for help.
Police said the suspect then grabbed a golf club and hit the woman in the forehead as she ran and hid under a truck. Police said the second man from the house returned with help and the suspect ran off.
The Leon Drive man later called police and said he was going to jump off the Shenango Dam in Mercer County. Police searched the area but could not find him. The man later called his ex-girlfriend and told her he was heading to Canada to join the French Foreign Legion, police said.
